Point your Webcentral (Netregistry) domain at us
Two small changes at Webcentral (Netregistry) make your domain show the new site. About ten minutes, no technical knowledge needed.
By the Fresh Site team. Updated 30 October 2026.
What you are changing
You are changing two DNS records, which are the entries that tell the internet where your domain lives. An A record covers the bare domain (yourbusiness.com.au). A CNAME record covers the www version. The values to enter are [we send you these two values].
Before you start
- Sign in to the Webcentral console at theconsole.webcentral.au. You need the login for the account that holds the domain. If someone else set it up, ask them for it, or ask them to follow this page.
- Check the domain's expiry date while you are in there. If it is close, renew it now.
- Your email keeps working. We do not touch MX records, which are the ones that carry email.
The steps
- Sign in to the Webcentral console.
- Click Websites in the left sidebar.
- Click the website that uses your domain.
- Click the Domains tab.
- Find your domain, open its three-dot menu and click Manage.
- Scroll down to the DNS records section.
- Click Add record, choose type A, and enter
@as the name with our first value. Click Create. - Click Add record again, choose type CNAME, and enter
wwwas the name with our second value. Click Create.
If your domain is registered but has no website in Webcentral, the domain may be managed from a separate domain panel. Message us and we will find the right screen with you. Field labels inside the Add record box are not spelt out in Webcentral's guide, so read the labels on screen.
How long it takes
Usually a few minutes. Sometimes up to a day while the change spreads across the internet. Nothing is lost in the meantime: visitors see either the old site or the new one.
How to check
Type your domain into a browser, with and without the www. When both show the new site, you are done. Or just ask us, and we will check from our side.
If Webcentral (Netregistry) also hosts your old site
Leave it alone. It switches off by itself once the records change. Do not cancel anything until we say the new site is live.
Not sure?
Message us and we will do it with you on a ten-minute call. Get in touch.
